Michigan fans have been dissatisfied with ESPN’s coverage of the team’s sign-stealing scandal, and they may boycott College GameDay next weekend as a result.
For the past month, ESPN’s Pete Thamel has been at the forefront of reporting on Michigan’s sign-stealing scandal, which resulted in Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh’s season-long suspension.
ESPN announced on Saturday that they will be in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the annual rivalry game between Michigan and Ohio State.
Some Michigan fans are considering boycotting ESPN’s visit to Ann Arbor.
“The best thing Michigan fans could do is simply not attend.” GameDay exists solely because of the people who support it. No-show and deprive them of the atmosphere they seek.” Michael Spath, a Detroit sports podcaster, commented.
It’s unlikely that Michigan fans will boycott College GameDay, but there will be plenty of anti-ESPN signs in the crowd.
