The Cleveland Browns schedule has been known for a long time, but the difficulty of the schedule changes almost weekly. The NFL schedule is more like a roller coaster, whether it’s due to injuries, a team overachieving or underachieving, or the performance of the Browns.
The next four weeks will bring two AFC playoff contenders and two NFC losing teams to Cleveland, beginning with the Denver Broncos in Week 12.
With three games scheduled out west (Denver, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks), the Browns requested that two of them be scheduled in back-to-back weeks. The NFL granted the request.
Unless something changes from the original plan, Cleveland will fly out for this week’s game against the Broncos and then stay out west in preparation for the Rams game. The team hopes to adjust more fully to the time change while limiting the strain on their bodies from flying.
A minor advantage, especially given the team’s early season bye week, is that the Browns will have another week to rest and bond as a unit (as they did at the Greenbriar during training camp).
This strategy will also restrict media access to the team to those who will travel for both games.
Only time will tell if Cleveland’s strategy will pay off in Week 13 in Los Angeles.
With a record of 7-3, the Browns have a good chance of winning at least ten games in 2023, but it all starts with this two-week road trip.
