It was announced during the second intermission of Friday’s game in San Jose that Joel Armia had been recalled from the Laval Rocket. Arber Xhekaj, who was originally listed as day-to-day, has also been placed on Injured Reserve to make room for his arrival.
Following the injury to Rafail Harvey-Pinard, the Canadiens were down to 12 forwards and had recently recalled Mattias Norlinder to give them an extra defenseman on the roster. As the team continues its journey through California, it now has an additional player at each of the skating positions.
Armia will be with the team when it arrives in Los Angeles for a Saturday afternoon game.
