One of the Atlanta Falcons’ most dependable players will be available for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
Younghoe Koo is not listed as injured for this weekend’s game, which is important for the Falcons’ special teams.
On Thursday, Atlanta announced the addition of Matthew Wright to the practice squad as an insurance option in the event Koo is unable to travel.
Koo was out of practice on Wednesday due to a back injury.
Wright, 27, has bounced around the NFL over the last few seasons, with stops in Jacksonville (as a full-time kicker), Kansas City, and San Francisco, where he was mostly a practice squad player.
Koo, of course, has been nearly automatic this year – again 0 – making 21-of-22 field goals and 14-of-15 PATs.
Wright will remain on the practice squad for this weekend’s game, and if Koo’s back injury worsens, the Falcons will have a backup plan in place.
