The Cleveland Browns can’t seem to shake the injury bug. Myles Garrett, the Browns’ star defensive end, suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s 29-17 loss to the Denver Broncos and was unable to finish the game.
Garrett told reporters after the game that he felt something “pop” in his shoulder. He’ll have an MRI, but he’s confident he’ll be able to play.
“I’ve played through things that should have sidelined me before,” Garrett went on to say. “I’m going to fight on and do what’s best for the team and myself.” We have high expectations for this season and what we will accomplish. Nothing like this will hold us or me back.”
Garrett is currently regarded as a front-runner for Defensive Player of the Year. He has 13.0 sacks, 23 QB hits, four forced fumbles, and 32 tackles through 11 games.
In 2023, the Browns survived several key player injuries, including the loss of star running back Nick Chubb and starting quarterback Deshaun Watson. One major reason for this was their outstanding defense, which was led by Garrett. Losing him would be a devastating blow, reducing their chances of making the playoffs.
Before falling to the Broncos, the Browns had a three-game winning streak. With a 7-4 record, they currently sit in third place in the AFC North.
