BREAKING NEWS: Raptors insider reveals details of Drake surprises Raptors’ locker room visit after big win over Sun

Drake wasn’t going to sit at home and watch his pals Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and the rest of the Phoenix Suns take on the Toronto Raptors.
The club’s Global Ambassador, seated early in his courtside seats Wednesday night, probably wasn’t expecting the slumping Raptors (who arrived back in Toronto at 4 a.m. following a loss to the Brooklyn Nets the night before) to put up much resistance against the 11-6 Suns.
However, Toronto jumped out to an early lead and never let up, clawing its way to a 112-105 victory over Phoenix, who were led by Durant’s 30 points.

Durant praised Toronto’s prized 22-year-old star Scottie Barnes after his 23-point performance.

“(He’s) just getting more and more comfortable, more experience will only make you a better player,” Durant told Sports Illustrated. “(Coach) Darko (Rajakovi) trusts him to bring the ball up the court and play point-forward more, and he’s shooting threes at a high rate now.” So for him, the sky’s the limit.”

And, after the Raptors ended the Suns’ seven-game winning streak, Drake showed up in the locker room to congratulate the players.

“What have you got for us?” “You’re a member of the team,” coach Rajakovi said as Drake entered the room.

“By the way, incredible win,” Drake said in a video posted to social media by the club.
“My dog has the chain on,” he said, looking at Barnes. “I saw a lot of synergy, a lot of ball sharing, and a lot of great plays.” Congratulations, boys. It’s a regular-season win, but it’s still a great win. We have to celebrate them.”

“He’s a winner, Scottie Barnes is a winner,” Rajakovi said after the game. “When you coach him, you just feel that energy, you feel him on the bench energizing the entire team.” He’s not avoiding the situation, either offensively or defensively.”

Unlike in previous games, Drake, who was in attendance with his son, Adonis, did not exchange barbs with Durant, with whom he is close off the court.

Drake now has a locker with the Toronto Raptors

When Durant’s Golden State Warriors defeated the Raptors on a Drake-themed night at Scotiabank Arena in 2016, the NBA MVP was asked about the “trash talk” between the two on an evening honoring the Toronto superstar.

“I don’t give a damn about no damn Drake night,” Durant, who has twice scored 51 points in the arena, replied coldly.

Durant had some harsh words for his “favorite rapper” after the Raptors were defeated by Golden State in Game 2 of the 2019 NBA Finals.

“Keep your head held high. It’s all right,” he chided, while his then-teammate Klay Thompson added, “You weren’t talking tonight, were you?” “On your bum ass.”
