The Green Bay Packers will be shorthanded when they face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Of course, they won’t have Aaron Jones, who is still out with a sprained MCL sustained in Green Bay’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He is still considered on a weekly basis.
Green Bay will also be without tight ends Luke Musgrave and Eric Stokes, who are both on injured reserve. Stokes has returned to practice in a limited capacity, but he is still not well enough to play. Musgrave is still recovering from a lacerated kidney suffered in the Chargers victory.
But it’s not all bad news for the Packers. This week, they are expecting the return of two key contributors. The question is whether they will be sufficient to help Green Bay upset Kansas City.
Green Bay Packers’ Dontayvion Wicks and Darnell Savage are back.
According to The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Dontayvion Wicks and Darnell Savage will return from injuries to face the Chiefs. Wicks missed the previous game on Thanksgiving due to a concussion suffered in the Chargers’ win.
Meanwhile, Savage is on injured reserve after suffering a calf injury. De’Vondre Campbell will also be in the lineup.
Jaire Alexander is not going to play for the Green Bay Packers.
Jaire Alexander, the Packers’ top cornerback, will also be out, according to Schneidman. He had practiced in a limited capacity all week but is not feeling well enough to go. He should be able to return next week.
In addition to Alexander and Jones, the Packers’ active roster includes Josiah Deguara, Caleb Jones, Samori Toure, and Brent Cox.
