JUST IN: NFL expert issues a surprising update on Falcons QBs department.

The Falcons have a.500 record but lead the division with a 3-0 record against NFC South opponents, putting them in position for a possible home playoff game.

They’ve done so thanks to a strong running game and an improved defense. It’s an unsustainable way to win, especially given the Falcons’ competition this season, but the team should never apologize for who they beat or how they beat them.

Still, if you’re not comfortable with it in a loss, you shouldn’t be comfortable with it in a win. This is the story of Desmond Ridder.

Jets know they can't underestimate Falcons QB Desmond Ridder

Ridder has been fantastic in some situations and awful in others. His entire 2023 campaign has been a mixed bag of results, with only minor improvements. At the quarterback position, complacency is how teams get stuck on the hamster wheel of mediocrity. As things stand, the Falcons are good enough to win the NFC South, but they aren’t serious Super Bowl contenders, and they won’t be able to draft a franchise-changing quarterback in the upcoming draft.

Atlanta cannot enter the 2024 season without attempting to upgrade the quarterback position, according to a media pundit. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Falcons will be one of the teams to watch in the NFL Draft next April.

The Patriots, Giants, Falcons, Bears, Commanders, Vikings, Titans, Buccaneers, Cardinals, and Rams will all be        interested in a Round 1 quarterback, according to Yates. It’s quite a long list! However, the only team I see as a        foregone conclusion to select a quarterback who is also within striking distance of where Williams and Maye                wil  be selected is New England. It’s clear that the Pats desperately need a quarterback change right now.

The Falcons aren’t in a position to land one of the top signal callers in the draft right now, but that doesn’t mean they can’t move up. They have an abundance of assets to do so.

Unfortunately, I believe the club will do otherwise. Desmond Ridder, I fear, will show just enough to convince Arthur Smith and Terry Fontenot to put all their eggs in his basket next season. The storm will be the one to sink their ship.

Hopefully, that’s not the case, Yates is correct, and the Falcons look for a better option than Ridder. But nothing this regime has done in its first three years has made me confident that they will take the right steps when it comes to
