BREAKING NEWS: Analyst implies AU has groundbreaking findings from disgraced ex-HC’s inquiry

On December 5, Opelika-Auburn News editor Justin Lee hinted that there are confirmed findings, potentially of the groundbreaking variety, regarding AU’s 2022 inquiry into disgraced former Auburn football head coach Bryan Harsin.

Auburn football: Is Bryan Harsin destined to leave for Washington HC job?

“Auburn University, for whatever reason, let’s (Harsin) troll and prod while taking the ‘high road’ and never releasing FOIA requests on its interview findings,” Lee began. He went on to say, “It’s baffling and frankly a bad look for Chris Roberts, but hey we all make mistakes our rookie year.”

Lee was responding to a reader who pointed out that Harsin appears to spend his days collecting unearned checks rather than being the Tigers’ head football coach, and that he is constantly inserting himself into Auburn conversations with not-so-subtle indirect references.

The ‘true reason’ for the 2022 investigation into Bryan Harsin’s Auburn football program
On October 9, 2022, Lee revealed the ostensible reason Harsin was investigated by Auburn University.

Sources: Bryan Harsin's Auburn football program toxic, dysfunctional

“For whatever reason, the university omitted the real reason for the inquiry into the program — the investigation into the possible mistreatment of Black football players — and allowed him to make a statement suggesting it was about the affair rumors,” Lee said in a statement.

If the lid is about to come off Harsin’s tenure, and why it was so short and didn’t work out on the field or the recruiting trail, the Boise native can forget about returning to the sport. In that scenario, AU might be able to find a way out of their financial commitment to Harsin. You’d have to hope that Auburn University’s Athletic Department’s counsel could find cause to fire him without further compensation. Of course, concealing these findings would be another scandal.

The repercussions of what Lee implied could be far-reaching and leave a mark on almost everyone involved.
