The Chicago Bears have been urged to fire head coach Matt Eberflus at the end of the 2023 NFL season. He has struggled as head coach on numerous occasions, and no one in Chicago believes he is the type of coach who can lead the Bears back to NFC relevance. If Eberflus is fired, fans and many in the Chicago media are hoping that the team will be able to hire Jim Harbaugh.
With all of the drama surrounding Harbaugh at Michigan, there is a strong possibility that he would consider returning to the NFL. Returning to coach his former team would make for an interesting story.
While a return to the Bears would be a great story, the chances of that happening appear to be dwindling.

The Bears’ chances of hiring Harbaugh have taken a major hit, according to a new report from Yahoo! Sports insider Jordan Schultz, due to the legendary coach’s relationship with team president Kevin Warren.
“Kevin Warren was the Big Ten president when Harbaugh was starting at Michigan, and they don’t get along.” Both men have been critical of each other. That is a broken relationship that cannot be repaired.”

Missing out on a coach like Harbaugh due to a strained relationship would be a bitter pill for the Bears to swallow. He’d be an excellent coach for Justin Fields or a young rookie quarterback. That is exactly the type of coach Chicago requires to rebuild into a contender.
There have been numerous other teams mentioned as possible destinations for Harbaugh around the league. The Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Carolina Panthers are among the top potential landing spots.
If the Bears want to hire Harbaugh, they should start working on repairing the relationship between Warren and Harbaugh. That will be a difficult task, but it is one worth attempting.
Harbaugh is the right man for the job, but things may be too broken to fix.
