Turnbull was selected by the Tigers in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2014 MLB Draft, and he made his Major League debut in September 2018. However, it was in 2021 that he cemented his place in Tigers history by pitching the team’s eighth no-hitter against the Seattle Mariners.

He leaves Detroit with a 12-29 record, 255 strikeouts, and a 4.80 ERA.
