BREAKING NEWS: Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson Drops Relief 3-Word Message

Dorian Thompson-Robinson is still recovering from a concussion, but the Cleveland Browns quarterback is not giving up.

On November 26, the rookie quarterback suffered a concussion against the Denver Broncos and has been in the protocol since. Thompson-Robinson has been relatively quiet in his time away from the field, but on Wednesday, December 6, he made a telling Instagram post.

Browns rookie QB Thompson-Robinson has brutal NFL debut

“In due time,” Thompson-Robinson wrote, alongside photos of himself on and off the field.

Thompson-Robinson practiced in a limited capacity for the first time on Wednesday. He’s still in concussion protocol, but getting on the field was a positive step.

The Browns have yet to name a starter, and it appears that Thompson-Robinson is being considered.

“I think we’ll have to wait and see how it goes.” That, I believe, is what is important in this situation,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said on Wednesday, December 4. “Dorian obviously hasn’t cleared just yet, but he’s going to practice, so I want to see how it looks.”

Browns Happy With Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s Growth

Thompson-Robinson’s NFL debut earlier this season did not go as planned. On October 1, he started against the Baltimore Ravens on short notice and threw three interceptions in a 28-3 loss.

Browns Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson To Start Over Veteran

After Deshaun Watson was ruled out for the season on November 15 due to a broken bone in his shoulder, the Browns decided to go back to him. This season, Thompson-Robinson has passed for 429 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.

It’s not the most beautiful stat line, but Stefanski is pleased with the fifth-round pick’s development.

“I believe Dorian is getting better. We’ve talked about him, and he’s gotten better throughout the preseason,” Stefanski said. “I believe he has improved throughout the season.” I believe we’ve all seen his skill set and know what type of player he is, but I believe he’s working very hard to improve as the season progresses.”

Browns Likely to Start Joe Flacco Against Jaguars

Stefanski has yet to officially name a starter, but veteran Joe Flacco appears to be the favorite to start against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In his Browns debut against the Los Angeles Rams, Flacco completed 23 of 44 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns. The Browns lost 36-19, but Flacco provided some of the best quarterback play of the season.

“I think he’s a pro, he’s been around, he’s been very well coached in his career, so all those nuances,” Stefanski told ESPN. “In terms of the play-action game, he’s been very hard coached on those things.” So I’m not surprised, but it’s something he’s worked hard to achieve throughout his career.”

Stefanski isn’t in a rush to name a starter this week or in the near future.

“I think for us, we really have to worry about the week you’re in and focus on the week we’re in, and that’s really what we’re going to do,” said Stefanski. “Every week, we talked about how to win this game.” That’s what you’re concentrating on.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding their quarterback situation, the Browns are a 3-point favorite over the Jaguars. Since it was announced that Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence might miss the game due to an ankle injury, the line has shifted quite a bit.
