BREAKING NEWS: Falcons could be welcoming back defensive line help as reveal by head coach Arthur Smith

Grady Jarrett, the Falcons’ heart and soul, suffered a season-ending knee injury more than a month ago.

Ryan Nielsen’s defense immediately took a step back. The Falcons allowed 31 points to Josh Dobbs, who had only been in Minnesota for a week, against the Vikings. The following week, in Kyler Murray’s first game back since tearing his ACL, the defense allowed 25 points to the Cardinals.

Nielsen’s unit, thankfully, bounced back with impressive performances against some mediocre offenses, holding the Saints to 15 points and the Jets to 8 points. They’ll now be welcoming back what was once a developing defensive lineman.

The team announced that LaCale London has been activated from injured reserve.

He was placed on injured reserve around the same time Grady Jarrett’s season-ending injury was announced. He has a 21-day window to be activated to the 53-man roster or placed on season-ending injured reserve by the end of the three weeks.

Falcons' LaCale London designated to return

The defensive tackle was previously on the practice squad before being signed to the active roster about a week before being placed on the IR. London was promoted for three games, against the Commanders, Buccaneers, and Titans, recording a fumble recovery and four tackles.

LaCale London could be a welcome addition to Atlanta’s defensive front as the Falcons prepare to host the Buccaneers this Sunday. We’ll find out soon whether or not he’ll be activated.
