The NFL announced on Wednesday that Colts defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad has been suspended without pay for the team’s next six games. The suspension is the result of a violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Muhammad’s suspension has little impact on the Colts. Despite playing a significant role in Indianapolis during the 2021 season (starting all 17 games and finishing second on the team with 6.0 sacks), Muhammad is only on the practice squad this year and has yet to appear in a game for the Colts.
Interestingly, another Colts defender (much more important) was suspended earlier this season for a PED violation. Regardless, it appears that Indianapolis grows stronger with each player they lose. Despite missing Anthony Richardson, Jonathan Taylor, and others due to injuries, they are 7-5 and firmly in the playoff hunt.
