ST. LOUIS, MO – Kyle Hiebert, a Canadian defender, has signed a new contract with St. Louis City FC that runs through 2026 with a club option for 2027.
Hiebert, who was overlooked in the 2022 MLS draft despite a stellar collegiate career at Missouri State, made waves in the MLS Next Pro league with St. Louis’ reserve side last year.
The 26-year-old from La Salle, Man., joined the first team in August 2022 and has played in 31 games this season across all competitions, playing at center back and both fullback positions. When Hiebert was in the starting lineup, St. Louis went 15-7-2 in the regular season.
“Kyle has grown exponentially since joining this club, which is why this decision was a no-brainer,” said St. Louis sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel in a statement released Monday. “He continues to excel, both on and off the field, and his positional versatility has been a massive growth in his game.”
Hiebert made his senior debut for Canada against Honduras in the CONCACAF Nations League in March.
