With Dak Prescott at quarterback, the Dallas Cowboys have won far more games than they have lost. However, Prescott’s lack of playoff success raises questions about whether he has “what it takes,” whatever that means. Is it just one person who isn’t buying it? CeeDee Lamb is a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Machota, Lamb batted for Prescott on Thursday, labeling the duo “both winners.” Lamb praised Prescott’s dedication to bettering himself and his teammates in his remarks.
“We’re willing to do whatever it is, whether it’s a change in our technique, whatever it takes for him to be comfortable in the pocket when he sees me and for me to be comfortable in my route when I see him,” Mr. Lamb said. “Being on the same page, staying true to each other and staying within the boundaries of the play.”
It’s difficult to imagine Prescott and Lamb being more at ease with each other’s flaws. Lamb ranks second in yards and third in receptions among all receivers. This season, the Cowboys’ 2020 first-round draft pick has 100 yards or more in six of 12 games.
Prescott and Lamb in unison
The complements flowed in both directions. Lamb was praised by Prescott for doing “everything the right way.”
“He’s just reaping the rewards for all the work that he’s put in this thing, our trust, the way that he attacks and approaches this game,” Dallas’ quarterback said of Lamb. We are both conquerors. That guy is a playmaker who desires to make plays. I’ll always want a guy around who wants to make more plays than the opposite.”
Prescott and Lamb’s gaudy numbers for the Cowboys this season demonstrate that their words are not empty rhetoric.
