The Oklahoma Sooners are a popular college football team. They appear to be in the running for a number of recruits and players through the transfer portal. On Sunday, the program signed former San Diego State cornerback Dezjhon Malone through the portal.
The Oklahoma Sooners have signed CB Dezjhon Malone.
“Truly Thankful for every opportunity in this process, excited to announce I am fully committed to the University of Oklahoma!” This morning, Malone wrote on X. He has 89 tackles (67 solo), four tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, and 12 passes defended in 33 games with the Aztecs. This is a fantastic pickup for Brent Venables and his team, who will now have the difficult task of attempting to stop SEC.
Transfer to the SEC
The Sooners will join the SEC in 2024, along with the Texas Longhorns. As a result, the conference is an absolute slog to get through. The conference was already difficult to win, and now it will include two of college football’s top programs. The Sooners still have a lot of positions to fill, especially now that QB Dillon Gabriel has entered the portal and will play for Oregon next season. Venables, on the other hand, should have no trouble finding a talented player to take over at quarterback next season.
Dezjhon Malone is an excellent addition to the team. As more visitors arrive, there will be a lot of player movement in the coming days, and it will be interesting to see where everyone ends up.
