Myles Garrett, a defensive lineman for the Cleveland Browns who has previously been penalized for criticizing refereeing, was careful with his remarks following the team’s most recent win over the Chicago Bears. To avoid incurring another fine, Garrett declined to elaborate on his apparent displeasure with the refereeing of the game and instead advised reporters to address their inquiries to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The poor officiating throughout the 2023 NFL season has been a topic of conversation for the majority of the teams. It appears that there have been numerous bad blown calls in nearly every game.

Two weeks earlier, Garrett had become frustrated with officiating because he felt there hadn’t been enough holding calls against the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive line. Though he had similar worries over the Bears game, he did not elaborate.
Images that appeared to show clear holds on Garrett during the Week 15 encounter were uploaded on Twitter by Hayden Grove of Cleveland.com, but no calls were made in relation to them.
Garrett had three tackles during the Bears game, but for the fourth straight week, he was unable to score a sack. He has accumulated 36 tackles, 13 sacks, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and three passes defensed thus far this season.
The former Texas A&M star, chosen by the Browns with the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, has established himself as one of the top pass rushers in the league, being selected to many Pro Bowls and First Team All-Pro teams.
Garrett had recorded 16 sacks in each of the previous two seasons, but he will have difficulty surpassing that total this year due to his current slump. The Browns, who now have a 9-5 record, will next play the Houston Texans.
