On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns earned a much-needed victory.
David Njoku, a star tight end, had one of his best games ever and was instrumental in the victory.
Maybe he got the idea from a young fan who approached him prior to kickoff, flashing a “Angry Runs” scripture across his chest and posing for a photo with him to flaunt his muscles and biceps.
Because of this, Kyle Brand of “Good Morning Football” had to go above and above to track down this little fan of the Browns and invite him to join him on the show’s Angry Runs section.
It appears that Njoku was clearly influenced by the young man, as even he acknowledged that he had earned the right to be there.
Njoku came on late to save Sunday’s victory.
With 1:50 remaining in the game and the score tied at 17, the Browns needed to drive down the field and make a field goal to win.
Joe Flacco then connected with Njoku on a stunning 31-yard bomb.
After a few plays, he found it once more for 34 yards, putting him within field goal range.
Njoku added his fifth touchdown reception of the year and concluded the game with a career-high ten grabs for 104 yards.
With career highs in receiving touchdowns (five), yards (704), and catches (69), he’s having the best season of his career even though his stats aren’t as good as those of other players in his position.
In addition, he leads the team in receptions and has the most touchdowns of any tight end for the Browns since Gary Barnidge’s nine in 2015.
