The Detroit Lions have made huge strides over the last two seasons, nearly making the NFL playoffs last season and on track to do so this year. While fans have undoubtedly enjoyed the team’s recent success, they have not been pleased with the resulting ticket prices.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Lions are raising season ticket prices for the 2024 season following back-to-back strong seasons for the team, and some of the price increases are absolutely massive.
“The Lions sent out season ticket renewals for the 2024 season on Monday, and most seats saw a significant price increase,” Birkett reported for the Detroit Free Press. “Tickets increased an average of 30%, a team spokesperson said, though multiple fans reported price increases as high as 85%.”
Obviously, raising season ticket prices this high after years of fan support is a terrible decision by the team, and fans were outraged.
It’s understandable that prices rose as demand for season tickets increased, but it’s clear that people were dissatisfied with such a drastic increase in season ticket prices.
