For what seems like an eternity, Notre Dame has had a crush on 2025 Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig. The Wisconsin native has returned the admiration, with the Irish appearing to be the frontrunner for him for quite some time.
Strebig released his updated top ten school list on Monday, which surprisingly included Notre Dame. Michigan, USC, Florida, Florida State, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, and UCF join the Irish.
The 6-8, 290-pound offensive tackle is already regarded as one of the top offensive line recruits in the 2025 class. Strebig is a consensus four-star recruit who is currently ranked in the top 100 by Rivals. His ranking on their site is the highest overall, with him currently ranked as the No. 65 overall player and No. 6 offensive tackle in the class. Rivals and ESPN both rank him as the top overall player in the state of Wisconsin.
Some of the top overall programs in college football are also interested in Strebig. Among the best offers he has received are from the University of Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami, Florida State, USC, Penn State, Florida, Texas A&M, UCLA, Arkansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Kentucky, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Stanford, Kansas, Purdue, Indiana, and Minnesota.
Notre Dame had high hopes for Strebig even before Joe Rudolph took over as offensive line coach. Rudolph’s Wisconsin ancestors have only strengthened that bond. Notre Dame is currently in a fantastic position and should be considered the team to beat for Strebig.
