Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, couldn’t hide his delight after the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.
The Cowboys and Eagles are tied for first place in the NFC East with 10-4 records after the latest round of games. Philadelphia could have surpassed Dallas in the standings with a win on Monday after America’s team suffered a humiliating loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

With that in mind, Jones (and perhaps the rest of Dallas) was understandably ecstatic when the Seahawks defeated the Eagles in an epic 20-17 come-from-behind victory. After all, the outcome at least softened the blow of their defeat to the Bills.
When asked about his reaction to the Seahawks-Eagles game, Jones made sure to compliment Drew Lock and his teammates as well. Apart from the fact that their victory in Seattle benefited them, the billionaire stated that he genuinely enjoyed the exchange of blows.
“It was fantastic. I watched every second of it. I was about to doze off when they made those two exciting plays, and I couldn’t sleep until 4 a.m. because of the impact it could have on our season,” Jones told Shan & RJ on Audacy’s 105.3 The Fan, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

Jerry Jones couldn’t be more genuine. The Dallas Cowboys desperately needed that break, and the football gods smiled on them as they provided exactly what Mike McCarthy’s team had hoped for.
Jerry Jones’ tenure as owner of the Dallas Cowboys is far from over.
For the time being, Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys lead the NFC East. Dallas, despite currently leading the division, could lose the top seed if both the Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles win their final three games.
According to Sporting News, the complicated tie-breakers would allow the Eagles to beat out the Cowboys for the top NFC East seed if they won out. Dallas currently leads the division due to its win-loss record, but Philadelphia would have the advantage “based on win-loss record against common opponents.” The Eagles would be 10-2, while the Cowboys are 9-3.
That being said, the Cowboys will need to hope that the Eagles lose at least one or two of their final three games, in addition to winning the rest of their games.

The Cowboys currently face a more difficult road than the Eagles. Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys face the Miami Dolphins and the Detroit Lions in the next three weeks, while Jalen Hurt and the Philadelphia Eagles face the New York Giants twice and the Arizona Cardinals, both of whom have a losing record.
The Cowboys have a lot of work ahead of them.
