BREAKING NEWS: Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze broke the news, Auburn lands a linebacker who is committed to Auburn from Duke

The Tigers have added a linebacker from the transfer portal to their defensive roster. Dorian Mausi, a Duke transfer linebacker, committed to Auburn on Wednesday.

Hugh Freeze, Auburn’s head coach, announced the news at a press conference on Wednesday.

After four seasons with the Blue Devils, Mausi entered the transfer portal in December. Mausi had 20 career starts and 1,659 career snaps by the end of Duke’s regular season, making him a seasoned transfer for the Tiger defense.

Mausi totaled 61 tackles in his final season at Duke, including a season-high 14 tackles against conference foe Florida State. Mausi made six starts this season and finished with 3.5 TFL.

Mausi made six starts and appeared in 11 games for the Blue Devils in 2022. In eight games of the 2022 season, he had 44 tackles, one TFL, one QB pressure, and at least three tackles.

Mausi started 11 games in 2021 and finished fourth on the team in tackles (59), while also recording two TFL, one forced fumble, and one QB pressure and registering at least three tackles in all 11 games.

Mausi graduated from Detroit Jesuit High School, where he was a three-star prospect and the nation’s No. 57 outside linebacker.
