Hugh Freeze and the Tigers won the race and got Edwin’s commitment and signature when Auburn made him a shortlist on November 2. Edwin made his decision to sign with Auburn late on Wednesday night.
Eagles Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia, produced a 3-star offensive line prospect. Auburn defeated Alabama, Clemson, Florida, and Georgia Tech for the talent.
At 6-foot-8 and 290 pounds, Edwin is regarded by 247Sports as the 69th-best high school recruit out of Georgia and the 56th-ranked offensive tackle in the nation. He began playing football in the spring of 2023, having previously played basketball.
Following an offer from Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, Edwin was made an offer by Freeze and the Tigers on August 16, according to 247Sports.
Later, Edwin made trips to The Plains for Auburn’s games against Georgia on September 30 and Alabama on November 25. Edwin had already eliminated the Tigers and Crimson Tide from his list of five teams by the time of his second visit.
With Gunner Britton, Avery Jones, and Kam Stutts set to become the team’s three starting offensive lineman, Auburn has made a healthy offer to a number of offensive linemen via the transfer portal.
Edwin will join 4-star DeAndre Carter and 3-star JUCO recruit Seth Wilfred in the offensive line room, meaning that Freeze and the Tigers will be welcoming at least three new players. If the Tigers sign an offensive lineman through the transfer portal, this figure might rise.
