OFFICIAL: Auburn Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze has confirmed the Duke linebacker

A few announcements were made by Hugh Freeze at his signing day press conference.

Using the transfer site, he declared that Auburn had signed Duke linebacker Dorian Mausi.

When the 6-foot-2, 230-pound defense visited the Auburn football program over the weekend, he must have been impressed.

Mausi played a lot of football for Duke before coming to Auburn. He played 387 snaps this past season after playing 409 snaps in 2021 and 736 snaps for the Blue Devils in 2021. In 2020, he played 299 snaps.

He was a three-star recruit for the Duke Blue Devils in the 2020 class.
He walks into a linebacker room that suddenly has some genuine depth. Among the people in the room with solid snapping experiences are Austin Keys, Eugene Asante, Cam Riley, and Wesley Steiner. Powell Gordon, Robert Woodyard, and Jake Levant are some additional seniors who might advance this year. Linebackers Demarcus Riidick and DJ Barber, both freshmen, are already on school.

Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers have selected Mausi as their third transfer of the month. He is the third athlete to enroll in the school through the transfer portal, following defensive lineman Gage Keys of Kansas and wide receiver Robert Lewis of Georgia State.
