The Atlanta Falcons have reportedly been fined for an incident that occurred in Week 7.
“Source: The #Falcons have been fined $75,000 and head coach Arthur Smith $25,000 for violating the NFL Injury Report Policy prior to the club’s Week 7 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport went on to say that the fine is in regards to the Bijan Robinson incident from Week 7.
The Falcons’ predicament
In case you missed it, the Falcons defeated the Buccaneers in Week 7. Bijan Robinson, on the other hand, had an unusual game. He was reportedly unwell but was not noted on the injury report. Robinson just had one carry for three yards in the victory.
The Falcons were fined for violating the NFL Injury Report Policy.
The Falcons’ fines add to the frustration of a dismal 2023 season. They enter Week 16 with a 6-8 record, making this a must-win game.
The Carolina Panthers, who are presently 2-12, recently suffered Atlanta a crushing blow. The Falcons were widely predicted to win that game, but they were defeated by Carolina.
The Falcons will be under even greater pressure moving forward as a result of this setback. Atlanta is ranked 10th in the NFC heading into Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Falcons are still in the playoff picture, but they will need teams ahead of them to suffer in the coming weeks, including the New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, and Minnesota Vikings.
