JUST IN: Bears receives mixed bag injury update on RB, tight end ahead of their upcoming Cardinals match, Justin Fields updates and more

Justin Fields will be auditioning to prove he should be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears as the season comes to a close. However, two of Fields’ and the Bears’ best offensive weapons will be out of commission for their Week 16 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Ending on a cliff Cole Kmet is expected to play despite having a quad injury. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, running back D’Onta Foreman will be out due to a personal matter.

Cole Kmet hints Bears' game plan could look similar against Chargers

Fields and the offense will benefit greatly from having at least Kmet back in the lineup. The tight end has 66 receptions for 571 yards and six touchdowns. He’s already set a new career high in receptions and is just one touchdown and 41 yards away from breaking both records.

Kmet’s strong performance has elevated him to one of Chicago’s more dependable pass catchers. In terms of receptions, yards, and receiving touchdowns, the tight end trails only DJ Moore. The Bears expect Kmet to be a force in the passing game for years to come after signing a $50 million extension.

D'Onta Foreman

D’Onta Foreman, on the other hand, was signed to a one-year contract in the offseason. He has run for 425 yards and four touchdowns in nine games this season. Foreman, on the other hand, hasn’t played since Week 14. In the run game, the Bears will rely on Roschon Johnson, Khalil Herbert, and Fields.

At 5-9, Chicago isn’t in contention for a playoff spot. However, even if the Bears aren’t at full strength, facing the Cardinals will provide another opportunity for the offense to shine.
