JUST IN: Raiders WR has been name on ‘Watch List’ for Legendary quarterback in 2024.

The Las Vegas Raiders are a team to keep an eye on this offseason. Since head coach Josh McDaniels was fired, the 2023 season hasn’t been a complete disaster, but the team is unlikely to make the playoffs.

The Raiders have the option of tearing the roster down to the studs and rebuilding, or they can continue to build around the star players they already have. However, Las Vegas may have a number of players who would command a premium on the trade market.

Due to his ties to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, star wide receiver Davante Adams has been linked to trade rumors involving the New York Jets for quite some time. Adams is on Rodgers’ “watch list” for the 2024 offseason, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

“Players on the Rodgers 2024 watch list include Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, who caught 68 touchdowns from Rodgers during their years together in Green Bay,” Cimini wrote in a column published on December 24, 2017. “This would be a significant compensation trade because Adams is under contract through 2024 ($17 million guaranteed).” The Jets are reportedly interested in pursuing him.”

When they were both on the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers and Adams had a lot of success together. If the Raiders are willing to let go of the All-Pro wide receiver, a trade to the Jets makes a lot of sense.

What Would a Davante Adams Trade Look Like?

The Raiders aren’t going to part with Davante Adams cheaply, especially to an AFC team. If the Jets want him, they’ll have to pay a high price. It’s difficult to imagine the team trading Adams for anything less than a first-round pick.

The Jets currently have the No. 8 pick in the draft, according to Tankathon. Would they be willing to give up a top-10 pick for a 31-year-old wide receiver? It could all come down to what Aaron Rodgers wants. He clearly wields considerable power within the organization, and they may be willing to do whatever he desires. A top-10 pick for Adams is certainly appealing to the Raiders. Given the roster’s larger needs, that would be difficult to turn down.

Davante Adams Discusses Game Closing

The Raiders’ ability to close out games has been a major issue the last two seasons. With the team facing the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16, there has been a focus on finishing games. The Raiders led the Chiefs 14-0 before losing 31-17 the last time they met.

Last season, Las Vegas led Kansas City 17-0 before falling short. Davante Adams stressed the importance of playing well for all four quarters.

“Coaches and players working together, players executing whatever is called and coaches making sure we continue to have that aggressive mindset, which ultimately makes – I mean that’s what typically puts us in that spot to where we have that lead,” Adams said when he was interviewed by the media on December 20. “So whatever it was that got us there, we’ve got to stay with that and find a way to keep doing what we’ve got to do as players to keep moving the ball and making it happen.”
