All week, Cleveland Browns fans’ social media feeds and podcasts were flooded with playoff scenarios.
However, victories by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills put an end to any Week 16 celebrations.
Cleveland, on the other hand, did their part by dominating the Houston Texans on Sunday, and as ESPN’s Jake Trotter pointed out on Twitter, that makes the Browns all but certain to make the playoffs.
According to ESPN Stats, the Browns have a 99.2 percent chance of making the wild-card playoffs this season.
With ten wins, Cleveland is the only non-division leader, and Buffalo is the only AFC wild-card contender with nine.
Three AFC South teams are 8-7 heading into Week 17, joining the Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Denver Broncos.
That means the Browns can clinch a playoff spot by beating the New York Jets on Thursday night.
