The Atlanta Falcons announced on Friday that they had signed punter Pat O’Donnell to their practice squad and released linebacker Frank Ginda.

Falcons punter Bradley Pinion did not attend Friday’s practice, so the team is most likely being cautious if he cannot play on Sunday. On Friday afternoon, Atlanta will release its final Week 16 injury report.

O’Donnel agreed to terms with the Packers on a two-year contract in March 2022. This followed an eight-year stint with the Chicago Bears (2014-2021). He had a decent year, earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week Three.

He has a total of 616 punts in his career, averaging 45.1 yards per punt. It will be interesting to see if the Falcons can find a spot for the 32-year-old punter on their active roster.
