Following his record-breaking day against the Houston Texans, Joe Flacco had a simple message for Cleveland Browns star receiver Amari Cooper.
In the win, Flacco and Cooper connected 11 times. Cooper set the Browns franchise single-game yardage record with 265 yards and two touchdown receptions.
“He’s special,” Flacco stated following the victory.
Cooper expressed his respect for Flacco following his big day.
“I’d blame Joe for the majority of it.” Cooper described him as having “an incredible feel for the game.” “The best way to explain is we mesh well together.”
Cooper is a silent superstar who is having a career year despite receiving passes from four different quarterbacks this season. This season, he has already set a new career high with 1,250 yards.
“That’s what they want from us: to go out there and make plays.” Cooper stated, “I’m glad to be doing my job.” “It’s all about opportunity.” The planets must align. You never know what to expect on any particular Sunday.”
Browns quarterback Joe Flacco Dedicated to Winning Games
Flacco, 38, has clearly demonstrated that he still has something left in the tank. He’s thrown for over 300 yards in three straight games. His most recent triumph was a resounding 36-22 victory over the Texans on Sunday. Flacco threw for 368 yards and three touchdowns. He did had two interceptions, but the Texans were unable to capitalize on either of them.
Flacco is having one of his best seasons, but he’s concerned about the box score. Winning is the only thing that counts to him.
“There will probably come a time in your career when you start thinking about those things.” And obviously, when it occurs, it’s fantastic,” Flacco said of his 300-yard passing efforts. “But right now, I’m just grateful to be in a position to win games.” That is the most important point. Winning these games requires a laser-like focus. Everything else is incidental.”
According to ESPN, the Browns currently have a better than 99% chance of making the playoffs after finishing 10-5.
“Keep our sights set on the prize.” Every week, I come up here and call my family, saying, “Man, that was a big win.” “That’s what December football is all about,” Flacco remarked. “They’re all important.”
The Browns are still dealing with serious injuries.
This season, the Browns have been plagued by injuries, and a few more cropped up against the Texans. The most notable was to kicker Dustin Hopkins, who will almost certainly make the Pro Bowl. Hopkins was injured on a Texans kick return touchdown and was unable to kick the rest of the game.
Martin Emerson Jr., the Browns’ cornerback, also suffered a shin injury. He did not return to the game following the injury, and the seriousness of the injury remains unknown.
Cleveland’s injury report is lengthy. Quarterback Deshaun Watson, running back Nick Chubb, offensive tackles Dawand Jones, Jedrick Wills Jr., and Jack Conklin, return-man/receiver Jakeem Grant, and safety Roderick McLeod are all out for the season.
The Browns were also without safety Juan Thornhill, linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo, and safety Grant Delpit in their game against the Texans on Sunday.
