JUST IN: Bears GM Ryan Poles Response to Justin Fields astonishing trade proposal from Las Vegas Raiders

Thanks to a deal with the Carolina Panthers last summer, the Chicago Bears are well positioned to take first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, with Justin Fields already in the fold and the top contenders in the draft class being quarterbacks, Chicago will have to make a decision on their draft pick.

Will the Bears keep Fields and trade down, as they did in the last draft? Or will they start from scratch, selecting a new quarterback to oversee their reconstruction while adding some additional assets?

In the latest NFL Mock Draft provided by CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso, it’s the latter. According to Trapasso, the Bears will trade Fields to the Las Vegas Raiders in return for a handful of Day 2 picks.

The Raiders sign Fields and send the 74th overall pick in the 2024 draft, as well as a 2025 third-round pick with the condition of becoming a second-round pick if Fields plays at least 75 percent of the snaps in 2024.
Of course, the Bears pick USC Trojans standout and former Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams as their quarterback of the future in the process.
Should the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders make a trade for Justin Field?
Justin Fields is developing into one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL, so it’s hard to believe the Chicago Bears would ever consider selling him.

However, if the Bears decide to make substantial changes to their coaching staff and front office, it would make sense for them to trade Fields. Given the class’s abundance of QB skill, the 2024 draft is the ideal time to make that decision.

For a Bears team that has only made the playoffs twice since 2011, drafting a talent like Caleb Williams and building around him could be a better option.
For the Las Vegas Raiders, it’s difficult to say no to a quarterback with such a high ceiling as Fields. Sure, he hasn’t had much success since arriving in Chicago in 2021, but a new environment and an offensive strategy that takes advantage of his dual-threat abilities might help him unlock and prosper even more.
It remains to be known what the Bears will do with the likely first-round choice, but all eyes will be on them as they assess their options in the approaching offseason.
