GOOD NEWS: Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh gives positive updates on Eight signed recruits ahead of Rose Bowl trip

LOS ANGELES (AP) — In recent days, a major percentage of Michigan’s newest recruiting class began their collegiate careers.

Ten players who signed with the Wolverines as part of the 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday, Dec. 20, have enrolled at Michigan and joined the team for practice ahead of the club’s College Football Playoff run.

Eight of the ten players have traveled to California with Michigan for Monday’s Rose Bowl (5 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, four-star tight end Brady Preiskorn from nearby Rochester, and four-star offensive tackle Blake Frazier are among those on the list.

Jeremiah Beasley, a four-star linebacker from Belleville who attended Michigan for practice before signing day, is also joining the trip.

“I’m in love with it. “It’s really exciting just to be able to have that experience,” Beasley said last week to MLive. “I know that I’m not playing (in the bowl game), but to just be able to practice, get out there and give them a look for the Alabama game, I’m just really excited.”

The shortened signing period has aided true freshman football players in recent years, allowing them to enroll ahead of the winter semester and begin practicing in late December. It is up to the team whether they are permitted to go to (or even participate in) a bowl game.

Four-star athlete Jacob Oden of Harper Woods is also on the list, as are three-star offensive linemen Jake Guarnera, three-star edge rusher Dominic Nichols, and three-star linebacker Cole Sullivan.

Two more signees, four-star tight end Hogan Hansen and four-star offensive tackle Andrew Sprague, have enrolled but did not go to southern California. Sprague of Kansas City will compete in the All-American Bowl on January 6 in San Antonio, Texas.
