JUST IN: Matt Eberflus gives a straight forward answer QB Justin Fields, OC Luke Getsy ‘arguing’ about formation amid growing Frustrations

The Bears have more than doubled their win total from the previous season. Justin Fields discusses where he believes the most development will be achieved in the 2022 season.

Without a doubt, one of the most important decisions the Bears will have to make this summer is whether to keep or release Justin Fields.

That choice will be made. Rest assured, the Bears’ decision will not be made until after the season.

“The decisions haven’t been made, and those are waiting until the end of the year when everything’s finalized,” Matt Eberflus said on ESPN 1000 on Tuesday. “Once again, Atlanta is our priority.” We have a big game against Atlanta this week.”

Eberflus and Ryan Poles have stated that they will meet with each player at the end of the season. They will evaluate their own performance as well as the performance of other departments in the building.

This should not be surprising. The Bears don’t make major decisions during the season. Remember, they’ve never sacked a head coach in the middle of the season. Why should they make that choice right now? Fields still has two games left to add to his list of accomplishments.

Furthermore, Eberflus isn’t the one who gets to decide Fields’ fate. Ryan Poles and Kevin Warren are in charge of this. The head coach has a say, but the final choice will be made by the men up above. Obviously, that decision will not be taken with two games remaining.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there at the end of the season.” We’ll take a look at all of those things, like we do every year. “Within the program, we’ll evaluate everything from A to Z,” Eberflus added.

Fields has left the Bears with a lot to think about after this season.

Fields has shown a lot in 36 starts with the Bears. But he’s also demonstrated that he has a long way to go before being labeled an outstanding quarterback. His ability to make plays and rush is all but proven. His passing abilities, however, are still in the works.

Do the Bears believe that by working together, they can develop him into the franchise quarterback they’ve been looking for?

Remember that the Bears now own the No. 1 choice in the 2024 NFL draft as a result of owning the Panthers’ first-round draft pick. Their league-worst record puts them first in the draft. The Bears might use their first-round pick to select a quarterback.

With two games remaining, the Bears are pleased with Fields and his effort.

“He’s been fantastic. Fields is a true professional, according to Eberflus. “He’s one of our toughest players and one of our hardest workers.” He continues to stay on his feet and concentrate on one day at a time, improving every week.
