TreVonte’ Citizen, a running back, is eligible to participate in the Pinstripe Bowl versus Rutgers. Mario Cristobal, the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes, confirmed his position on Wednesday afternoon.
Citizen has been with the Dolphins since 2022, but he missed the first two seasons due to a knee injury and setback.
It will be his collegiate debut if he plays in the Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday afternoon. He’ll be part of a strong running back rotation that includes Mark Fletcher Jr., Henry Parrish Jr., and Ajay Allen versus Rutgers.
Citizen, a 4-Star recruit from Lake Charles College Prep in Louisiana, was ranked second in the Class of 2022 by Rivals. In his final high school season, he rushed for 743 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Before tearing his ACL in 2022 fall camp, he was turning heads. On Miami’s football roster, Citizen is listed at 6-1, 220 pounds.
He did warm up for some of Miami’s late-season games in 2023, but he did not play. Following his injury, Miami’s coaching and training staffs were extremely cautious. Thursday could be his moment to shine.
