Keith Brown, a former Oregon linebacker who spent one season at the University of Louisville, is back in the transfer portal.

Brown only appeared in three games during the regular season at Louisville and will be able to redshirt this season. He did play on special teams in the ACC Championship game against Florida State and the Holiday Bowl against USC.

Brown, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 235 pounds, played 12 defensive snaps in two games and 14 special team snaps in four games. He had one tackle on the season.
Brown, a two-time transfer, will be eligible immediately at his next school under new NCAA rules that were distributed to schools last week. He’ll be eligible for another two years.

Brown announced earlier on Thursday that he would enter the portal. On Thursday night, Cardinal Authority confirmed that his name appeared in the portal.

Brown was looking to earn a starting spot at Oregon after appearing in 19 games over the first two years of his career, three as a starter and 16 as a reserve. He had started the team’s bowl victory over North Carolina and had a career-high five tackles.

The Lebanon, Oregon, native made 36 total stops during his two seasons at Oregon.
Brown then transferred to Louisville after leaving after spring ball in April. He redshirted after seeing limited action in the first two games of the season.

247Sports ranked Brown as the No. 107 prospect in the Class of 2021, and he was the No. 14 overall linebacker and No. 1 player in Oregon. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he was ranked 114th in the country. He chose Oregon over Arizona, California, Michigan, Oregon State, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington, and Washington State, among others.

Brown appeared in seven games for the Ducks as a freshman in 2021, starting two. He finished with 15 tackles, six of which were solo.

Brown appeared in 12 of Oregon’s 13 games as a sophomore, finishing with 21 total tackles—12 solo—and his first career sack.

Brown is the tenth Louisville player from this year’s roster to enter the portal. The portal will remain open until January 2.
