Wide receiver Ahmari Huggins-Bruce of Louisville has entered the transfer portal.
Friday afternoon, the junior racer made the announcement on his social media accounts.
“I must begin by saying that I have truly loved and enjoyed my three years as a Cardinal,” Huggins-Bruce said in a statement. “From the moment I arrived on campus, this program gave me the opportunity to play and demonstrate my abilities.” Since joining this football program, I’ve learnt a lot about football, collaboration, and self-improvement. I’d like to express my gratitude to the coaches, strength and fitness staff, teammates, academic advisers, and Ms. Robyn for supporting me in adjusting to being away from home. I’d also like to thank Card Nation for their help; you guys are the finest.
“However, after extensive prayer and discussions with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”
Huggins-Bruce finished the season sixth among Louisville wide receivers in receptions (20), fourth in receiving yards (312), and second in touchdown receptions (4). He also ran the ball six times for 48 yards and another touchdown.
Huggins-Bruce had his moments as a Cardinal, but he never developed into the constant downfield menace that he appeared to be at times. With Louisville already landing two of the more prominent wide receivers in the transfer portal, this news isn’t really surprising.
Best wishes to AHB in the future.
