Alabama was looking for an offensive lineman, according to Nick Saban, and it now has one.
According to On3Sports’ Hayes Fawcett, Naquil Betrand has committed to the Crimson Tide via the NCAA transfer portal.
Betrand, a former Texas A&M player, was the top-ranked 2022 signing class for the Aggies. He joined the portal on December 23 and has committed to Alabama. The 6-foot-6, 342-pounder was a three-star recruit out of Philadelphia’s Northeast High School. He still has four years of eligibility and has the size of an offensive tackle but can also play guard.
Betrand is Alabama’s third player drafted from the portal, and the second former Texas A&M athlete to join the team.
Alabama now has Betrand, former TAMU edge rusher LT Overton, and former USC defensive back Domani Jackson.
