BREAKING NEWS: MIAMI HURRICANES LOSS ANOTHER EXCELLENT PLAYER TO NFL DRAFT

The Louisville transfer put up career numbers in Coral Gables for one season.

Following Miami’s loss in the Pinstripe Bowl, another athlete has elected to forego their remaining eligibility and enter the professional ranks. Miami linebacker K.J. Cloyd announced on social media that he will enter the 2024 NFL Draft.

Miami lands Louisville LB transfer KJ Cloyd

Cloyd joins the Hurricanes this season after spending his first three years at Louisville, where he was recruited by linebacker coach Derek Nicholson. Cloyd finished his career with 44 total tackles (tied for fifth on the team), two interceptions, and one pass deflection.

With Cloyd already in the NFL, Miami’s linebacker core will be led by Francisco “Kiko” Mauigoa and Wesley Bissainthe in 2024. Cloyd’s departure also provides an opportunity for some of the younger linebacker alternatives to step in. Adarius Hayes and Raul Aguirre will be popular candidates to fill the position.

Cloyd joins Hurricanes Matt Lee, Javion Cohen, James Williams, Kamren Kinchens, and Leonard Taylor in declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.
