Matt Eberflus, head coach of the Chicago Bears, may not be coaching his final game with the team on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Chicago is 7-9 on the season and out of postseason contention, but they have been playing much better down the stretch, winning four or five games in a row.
He is in his second season and might very well be back for a third with the Bears. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he said on Saturday, December 30 on Matt Eberflus returning to the Bears next season: “”I would be surprised if Matt Eberflus was not back for the Chicago Bears as of right now.” They’ve improved significantly… They certainly appear to be on the right track… “I’m getting nothing but good vibes from Chicago.”
He was 3-14 in his first season with the Bears, who received the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. They also have the first overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft thanks to a transaction with the Carolina Panthers last offseason. Carolina currently has a 2-14 record.
