It could be argued that no other club in the NFL experienced greater difficulty than the Cleveland Browns, who lost star running back Nick Chubb and star quarterback Deshaun Watson for the season.
Many pundits and critics wrote off the Browns after both Chubb and Watson went down and were not expected to return during the 2023 season, but the team has been able to endure due to the impressive play of its defense, led by potential NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.
Although Garrett receives the majority of the credit for how well the defense performs on a weekly basis, much like superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald receives a lot of credit for his performance with the Los Angeles Rams, offensive coordinator Jim Schwartz deserves a lot of credit for the team’s success this season.
Schwartz, a former NFL head coach, will be in high demand during the NFL offseason, with so many coaching vacancies predicted.
This week, Schwartz was asked about his NFL future and expressed his happiness with the Browns while leaving the door open to being a head coach again in the league, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
“I’m very happy here.” This company is fantastic. Cleveland is my favorite city. But here’s what I’d say: In any career, you should always strive to be at the top of your field. And I’m no exception,” Schwartz remarked.
