SAD NEWS: Browns in trouble as Browns place LB Anthony Walker Jr. on IR with a severe knee injury

Ohio’s BEREA Anthony Walker Jr., a linebacker with the Cleveland Browns, was expecting to play again after having knee surgery at the end of December, with a “week-to-week” evaluation. Regretfully, the team put him on injured reserve on Friday, so the effects of the injury will last longer.

Walker will have to miss at least four games as a result of being placed on injured reserve. Walker’s earliest possible comeback this season would be if the Browns won the Super Bowl.

The linebacker suffered a knee injury during a workout that has kept him out of the last three games. He was also declared ineligible for the Bengals game on Sunday. He has already missed time this season due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Steelers.

As a team captain and the Browns’ 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year candidate, Walker recorded 42 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble while starting 12 games this season.

His passing is just one more injury on a long list for the Browns. Among the 16 Browns players to be placed on the injured or ill list are Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb, Jack Conklin, Grant Delpit, Dawand Jones, and Jedrick Wills Jr.

The Browns added practice squad member Sam Kamara to the active roster, while Walker was placed on injured reserve. Although Kamara has appeared in ten games in his career, he has mostly been a member of the Browns practice squad for the last two seasons.
