BREAKING NEWS: Louisville cardinals in a new blockbuster contract with Former Toledo running back

After visiting the campus, he recently listed Louisville, Florida State, and Kentucky in his top three universities. The 6-foot-1, 245-pound power back was among the Group of Five’s and college football’s most productive rushing backs this season. With 10 starts, Boone participated in all 13 of Toledo’s games and ran for 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns on 194 carries. He also caught 15 receptions for 219 yards and one touchdown. His 1,619 scrimmage yards and his total of 1,619 rushes were good for eighth place in the FBS. During his first two years of college, the Detroit, Michigan native attended Maryland, but he was never more than a rotational player.

He participated in 14 games with the Terrapins, logging 58 carries for 258 yards and two touchdowns. Before the 2022 season, Boone made the decision to transfer to Toledo, where in his debut season with the Rockets, he ran for 439 yards and three touchdowns. Recruiting Boone was unquestionably a huge achievement for head coach Jeff Brohm and his team. Boone is the second running back after Chaney to transfer to Louisville in this cycle, making him the 17th player overall. During the winter transfer window, the Cardinals have also had 17 scholarship players of their own come via the portal. The Cardinals concluded their first season under head coach Jeff Brohm with a three-game losing skid, but they completed 2023 with an overall record of 10-4 (7-1 in ACC), including a trip to the program’s first-ever ACC Championship Game.
