Ahead of the trade deadline, speculation surrounding Pascal Siakam has made the Toronto Raptors one of the most talked-about teams in the NBA. Finally disclosing his thought process, Siakam has to put up with these rumors for several months.
According to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee, Pascal Siakam was all business when questioned about the current trade rumors. The Raptors’ power forward isn’t getting involved in any of the trade speculations that are going around the league; he is just focused on playing basketball.
To be honest, I don’t know anything at all. We’ve obviously had a few strong victories, so I simply wanted to keep improving on that. Obviously, the loss was difficult. All we need to do is keep building, keep getting back up, and keep working. Really, I’m not very aware of anything. I have workers who do that kind of thing. I’m a basketball player. Since I play basketball, that is all I attempt to concentrate on.
Siakam is currently the subject of numerous trade rumors for a reason. The Raptors aren’t in a position to truly contend with one another for the title. In addition, he’s among the league’s finest power forwards. For the season, Siakam is averaging 22.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. That kind of output would be ideal for any postseason contender.
Therefore, trade rumors about Siakam will persist even while he concentrates on his basketball career. Given that Pascal Siakam is in a contract year, the Raptors might be better off trading him. Thus, even if he plays out the season in Toronto, there’s a good chance he’ll sign a free agent contract elsewhere. This squad would suffer a terrible blow if they let a star player walk away from them without receiving anything in exchange.
