Serious Knee Injury Updates On Steelers Line backer
T.J. Watt’s knee injury has a slightly better prognosis than first thought.
J.J. Watt, Watt’s brother, who is employed with CBS Sports, stated on Sunday that T.J. sprained his MCL in a Grade 2 manner on Saturday and that everything else appeared “pristine.” It was the “best case scenario for T.J.” according to J.J.
T.J. Watt’s rehabilitation period will still require at least a “couple of weeks” of rest, which might jeopardize the sack-master’s availability for a potential postseason matchup should the Steelers make it that far.
A Grade 2 MCL sprain is slightly better than the Grade 3 that was first thought to have occurred during Saturday’s 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Much of the Steelers’ 10-7 regular season result may be attributed to Watt, who led the league in sacks with 19.0. According to Next Gen Stats, Pittsburgh has a 64.0 percent chance of making the postseason as of Sunday’s games. If Jacksonville lost to Tennessee or Buffalo lost to Miami, the Steelers would advance to the postseason.
