Before the season begins, Alec Bohm, Ranger Suárez, Edmundo Sosa, Gregory Soto, and Jeff Hoffman should all get raises.

The Phillies agreed to terms with fourth outfielder Jake Cave ($1 million), backup catcher Garrett Stubbs ($850 thousand), and relief pitcher Dylan Covey ($850 thousand) for the 2024 season on November 17, the same day they tendered contracts to five of their eight arbitration-eligible players.

According to MLB Trade Rumors’ annual forecasts for arbitration numbers, Matt Swartz, a few Phillies will probably get a large wage increase this offseason. Terms can be agreed upon by teams and players before to the Jan. 12 filing deadline. If not, a neutral arbiter will determine the terms of communication. Hearings for arbitration will take place between January 29 and February 16.

According to Swartz’s forecasts, Alec Bohm is the only Phillies player who will earn much more in 2024. This offseason, the 27-year-old third baseman became eligible for arbitration, and his expected salary for the upcoming season is $4.3 million. Compared to the $748,000 he received in 2023 while making the league minimum, that is a welcome rise.
