Jim Harbaugh keeps his promises. The Michigan coach, a former student-athlete and college football player, fulfilled his pledge to win a national championship for his alma mater on Monday night at NRG Stadium in Houston when the Wolverines defeated Washington 34–13. However, Harbaugh still has one more promise to fulfill, and he plans to do so. The Michigan coach had promised his team before the season that if they finished 15–0, he would get a tattoo. Following the Wolverines’ championship game triumph, which guaranteed them a perfect record, Harbaugh announced to reporters that he planned to be inked. He described the body art in a video that Alejandro Zuniga of 247 Sports posted on X, the former Twitter platform.
“Yes, I did tell our players that. I said, “We go 15–0; that’s because I’m getting a tattoo.” I’m going to wear it; I’m not sure if it will be on my left or right shoulder yet. QB, right-handed, I’ll likely get it on my right. Then there was a “M,” a “M” that was both blue and maize. Additionally, that represents 1000 in Roman numerals,” Harbaugh remarked. The Michigan coach is not only going to get the tattoo, but it looks like he has it planned out in great detail.
The tattoo has the perfect record, a “M” in the team’s colors, and the number 1000 in Roman numerals, which represents the all-time win milestone the football program achieved this year. It’s possible that his Wolverines teammates are as happy about this development as they are about taking home the national championship.
