GOOD NEWS: Phillies Finally Announce The Signing Of Their Prime Target Young winner On Tuesday Morning

The Philadelphia Phillies, who are officially in the second half of the offseason, have only made one significant acquisition thus far. Re-signing Aaron Nola was the objective, and it was basically all that the front staff needed to do to guarantee their chances of winning World Series championships.

Despite their large salary, there have been rumors that the Phillies might not be done adding players because some of the best starting pitchers in the game are still available. 2023 Cy Young winner Blake Snell’s most likely destinations are listed by MLB.com’s Will Leitch, who includes Philadelphia in this group.

MLB rumors: Phillies named potential Jordan Montgomery landing spot amid Blake Snell interest

Even if he doesn’t match the outdated Veterans Stadium stereotype of the perfect Phillies fan favorite, he still meets the veteran profile.

However, by October, Snell, Zack Wheeler, and Aaron Nola would form a formidable top three,” the author adds. Without a doubt, adding Snell to this rotation would make them among the best in baseball, but would they actually contemplate making this move given the myriad uncertainties surrounding the lefty? The Phillies have been in the running for a number of big players over the past few years and have landed many of them because to their extremely aggressive manager, Dave Dombrowski. Maybe that explains why, even after re-signing Nola, they have been connected to free agents repeatedly this cycle, even though they don’t actually need anything. Leitch ranks Philadelphia as his seventh most probable team to sign Snell out of his 11 mentioned teams.

Phillies: Wheeler says he'll always have "chip" on shoulder about Mets

That doesn’t give me much hope that the Phillies will make a move, and given his contract, I doubt they are seriously considering the Cy Young winner. While it is possible that Dombrowski will surprise everyone by signing the best starting player available, it appears that Philadelphia is happy with the group that is currently assembled.
