On Tuesday, the Browns practiced without a few key players.
Defensive end Myles Garrett, wide receiver Amari Cooper, and tight end David Njoku were among the players who did not take the field as the team prepared for the Texans game on Saturday. Although the Browns had nothing to play for and no incentive to push any players on the field, none of the players played in Week 18.
Garrett was described as having a personal problem in addition to shoulder and hamstring problems, while Njoku was noted as resting and suffering from a knee injury. Cooper was also out in Week 17 due to a heel issue.
Guard Joel Bitonio (rest, oblique, knee), kicker Dustin Hopkins (left hamstring), running back Kareem Hunt (groin), cornerback Greg Newsome (knee), running back Pierre Strong (back), safety Juan Thornhill (calf), and wide receiver Cedric Tillman (concussion) missed practice as well.
Limited participation included cornerback Mike Ford (calf), wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (knee), linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk (calf), defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo (pectoral, groin), and center Ethan Pocic (shoulder, stinger).
Quarterback Joe Flacco was also listed as having a calf ailment, although he was a complete participant.
