GOOD NEWS: Williams, a five-star wide receiver in the 2024 class has been commited to auburn tigers

It looks like Auburn will land five-star Ryan Williams.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Williams, a five-star wide receiver in the 2024 class, has withdrawn his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Later this month, he will have an official visit from the Tigers. Shortly after Williams announced his decommitment to the Tide, 247Sports’ Bud Elliott submitted a crystal ball for the Tigers to claim.

Auburn football flip of Ryan Williams from Alabama deemed unlikely
As soon as Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement on Wednesday afternoon, Williams announced his decommitment.

Having committed to Alabama in October 2022, Williams is being courted by the Crimson Tide. Hugh Freeze and the Tigers have made every effort to lure him away. Perry Thompson, another five-star receiver, has already been traded from the Tide to them.

Leading his high school to a state championship, Williams caught 88 catches for 1,641 yards and 24 touchdowns, ran for 700 yards and 15 scores on 57 rushes (12.3 yards per carry), returned two punts for touchdowns, and passed for a score.

5-star WR Ryan Williams, an Alabama commit, visits Auburn

Williams, according to 247Sports, is a dynamic playmaker with a “nuclear explosion out of cuts” and “projects as a high-major impact player with high-round NFL Draft upside.”

The national scouting expert compared former Alabama WR Calvin Ridley to an NFL player.

Williams has the opportunity to make an impact wherever he goes. Auburn will have added three five-star receivers to their roster in the 2024 class if the Tigers are able to flip him away from the Tide.
